We would like to inform you that due to the economic and political situation in the United States, the CIEAEM76 conference scheduled for July 2025 in Philadelphia has been cancelled. The conference will take the form of three online seminars during the fall 2025, to which all interested are welcome to participate.

The theme of the CIEAEM 76 conference, ‘New Realities, Current Practices and Future Orientations for Mathematics Education’, will be discussed from different perspectives in the three webinars. They will take place on Zoom in the following dates: October 3, 2025; November 14, 2025; December 5, 2025. The webinars are scheduled from 4 to 6 PM, CET time. Presentations and group discussions will be held during all seminars.
The overarching theme for these webinars will be addressed during the first webinar on October 3, 2025.
Speaker introducing the overarching theme: Prof. David Wagner, University of New Brunswick, Canada.

The main focus of the first webinar October 3, 2025 is the subtheme “Technologies and Challenges”, which may concern topics such as affordances of technology-based pedagogies and curricular innovations, new mathematical content emerging in technology-based pedagogies, how social media may be incorporated into curricular modules that collect important data, create mathematical models, challenge traditional forms of problem solving, and powerfully engage learners and their communities in important mathematics learning.

Speakers/Discussants for the subtheme: Prof. Nathalie Sinclair, Simon Fraser University, Canada, and Prof. Chronis Kynigos, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
Organisers: Prof. Gilles Aldon, Prof. Andreas Moutsios-Rentzos, Prof. Cristina Sabena

The subtheme of the second webinar November 14, 2025 is the “Environment and the Greater-than-Human World; L'environnement & le monde au-delà de l’humain”
This webinar is designed to engage the audience in a reflection on possible connections we may enact in our engagement as (mathematics) educators with the multiple crises of the moment. The guest speakers and the webinar chair have designed a collaborative space to bring us together in sharing experiences, hopes and uncertainties about our response-abilities now.

Speakers/Discussants for the subtheme: Prof. Richard Barwell and Prof. Paola Valero.
Chair: Prof. Susan Gerofsky

In this third webinar, we will focus on early mathematics learning.
Audrey Cooke will explore teacher education in her talk, “Early Childhood Teacher Education – Changing the Relationships with Mathematics.”
Dorota Lamberer, in her talk “Early Childhood and Primary Mathematics: Collaborative Partnerships with Families,” will prompt us to reflect on the home–school relationship, which is so important for early learning.
Speakers/Discussants for the subtheme: Prof. Audrey Cooke, Curtin University, Perth, Australia, Prof. Dorota Lembrér, Malmö University Sweden
